Whether it's a layering of solid shapes or intricate cut out designs there's a myriad of ways this fabric can be used to transform a space.

STRETCH TECH. BACKDROPS

Despite being versatile stretch fabric requires a different approach when it comes to applying a custom design or colour. For a good stretch backdrop it's paramount to use 4way stretch which means that the % of synthetic (lycra) is high. This composition of synthetic materials makes it ultimately more difficult for paint to adhere and bond to the surface and therefore we work with specialist airbrush paints imported from the U.S. and Australia which require careful heat setting.

Despite being versatile stretch fabric requires a different approach when it comes to applying a custom design or colour. For a good stretch backdrop it's paramount to use 4way stretch which means that the % of synthetic (lycra) is high.

The application of heat to a synthetic fabric comes with a steep learning curve and although we're experienced in this we're not too proud to admit that there have been nail biting moments. As synthetic fabrics are normally inherently coloured they are extremely difficult to dye. For more varied designs and small canopies we acheive this with a mix of sewn-in detail airbrushed panels and contrasting fabric colours.

This said, the advances in printing has increased the scope of this fabric and longevity of designs and is becoming a more affordable option for large canopies when commissioning custom designs and brand printed stretch.

From the more commonplace rectangular or square shape, to more ambitious and creative shapes and dimensions, a stretch projection screen can add depth as well as blend seemlessly into the overall theme or decor of an event. Although not as clear as industry standard screens for back projection it's still possible to acheive stunning background visuals. For front projection and 3D mapping the shape changing properties of this fabric can offer an exciting medium on which to project. Lightweight, customisable, both in size and shape, they can be installed in areas where standard screens have limited scope or sufficiently strong hanging points.

STRETCH TECH. 3D

Stretch fabric lends itself perfectly to the creation of smooth tactile 3D forms with the only limitation of good sturdy anchor points. Not only can stretch 3D shapes and forms become a focal or talking point of an event but with the integration of LED lighting and visual effects they can serve both a functional as well as decorative role.
